  1. Search for Volunteer Opportunities - Using a national database, you can find opportunities according to your interests and zip code.  The site allows you to connect directly to the nonprofits and send them your Boomerang Foundation Resume. And, if you really want to impress, you can send a fully-developed project plan, using the Boomerang Foundation Project Planner.

  2. Send Group Invites - It's easy to arrange a group volunteering event through VolunteerMatch.  Once you've found an opportunity that's good for groups, you can send an invitation via email to the members of your group and track their responses. Additionally, VolunteerMatch will notify the organization of your interest and request that they follow up.

  3. Keep Track of Your Hours - To record the time you have spent volunteering in your local community, use the tools available through the Hours Tracking system. This feature includes a history of all the opportunity listings you have responded to and provides the tools you will need to add, edit, or delete your volunteer hours.

  4. Track Your Volunteer History - Use your volunteer account to manage your referral history in one central location. Keep track of the opportunities you've responded to and important contact information associated with the nonprofit organization.

  5. Upload Your Resume - After you create a professional resume using the Boomerang Foundation resume builder, go to your profile and with one easy click, upload your resume and send it as an attachment to a nonprofit, keep a copy on your computer to print out for job and college applications.

  6. Receive Opportunity Alert Emails - Receive personalized emails listing new and upcoming volunteer opportunities.

Here's what you can do in the Toolbox Section:

  1. Create Your Own Professional Resume - Using the resume builder, you can create your own professional resume that includes information about you like grade point average, course highlights, skills and experience. You can print it out and present it to college admissions or employers.  Or, create a transcript of your individual and group community service projects from your Boomerang Foundation VolunteerMatch profile.  You can impress college admissions, employers, your family and friends with either a professional resume or transcript.

  2. Plan a Project Using a Business Plan Builder - The Boomerang Foundation also offers a fully developed project planner, which makes it easy for you to plan a project with all of the elements of a professional business plan.  Try it.  You'll be surprised and impressed at how you can develop a business plan by yourself or with a group of friends.

  3. Find Service Learning Resources, Lessons and Ideas - This site has resources and information with links to great websites, fantastic lesson plans, project ideas and tools for teachers, students, parents, groups and individuals. If you know of a resource that we should include, please send it to us.
